Tom Wesselmann "Blue Dance" 500-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

This 500-piece jigsaw puzzle is of Wesselmann’s Blue Dance artwork from 1996. The abstractions and color variations in the artwork make this a challenging and interesting puzzle to complete. A reference image in full color is included inside the box.

About the artwork: Henri Matisse had been an influence for Tom Wesselmann since first learning about him while studying at Cooper Union (1956–1959). This influence is seen from his early career in the collage After Matisse from 1959 all the way to his late work, such as in this work from 1996. The iconic image of Matisse’s The Dance is suggested by Wesselmann’s fluid blue forms against the colored abstracts shapes surrounding them on a cut-out aluminum backing.
